Three hours east of Macas, Ecuador, in the cloud forests of Morona-Santiago I ventured out on a night hike in search of the source of sounds. A distinct call came out from dense vegetation on the rivers edge. There are many hazards this time of night, and at this depth in the jungle, so I cautiously stepped into the water and peered behind every leaf until i saw this Glass frog. Many species are mistaken for other taxa, unnamed, and yet to be discovered, so for me finding this was a treasure.
