this photograph was taken in Viareggio, in January of 2010, it is part of a series of pictures for a photographic project, aiming to document the small, but quite active and dedicated, community of winter surfers from the area. 2010 was a particularly cold winter and this surfer, who is warming up before entering the water, seems frozen in the shot, as he's just been left on the shore by a wave, like that.
