Stormy day of Clarence Strait
At the mouth of Slide Creek, this scene of Clarence Strait revealed itself while traveling a logging road on a windy day. The strait is directly connected to the Pacific Ocean to the south and funnels strong winds northward building waves in an area usually considered as protected waters. At high tide waves lift and grind together the logs. First goes the bark followed by the wood which is gradually worn away leaving red-toned logs.
