My wife and I lived in the western rice plains of Cambodia for a year, then traveled east and discovered a whole new Cambodia in Mondulkiri Province. Efforts are underway to protect this area's natural resources and wildlife and help it recover from the conflicts in the region in the 1970s and '80s.
