    The view from Sunset Point over the Navajo Loop Trail in the basin just took our breath away. The clumps of the iconic hoodoos like spiky islands in a drained lake bed protruded up illuminating in the morning sunlight. I asked myself why I had been dreaded coming here. Maybe because I just had seen one too many photos… And yet, I couldn’t help myself taking photos of the sandstone while delightfully overwhelmed by its beauty.
