Amelanchier at sunset.
We're experiencing dark grey days with no photo opportunities at present so I'm looking back through my photo archives and retrieving one or two unused shots. This is amelanchier, one of the first shrubs to flower in spring. It has an incredible number of alternative names - shadbush, shadwood, shadblow, serviceberry, juneberry, saskatoon, sugarplum , wild-plum and chuckley pear. Surprisingly, it belongs to the rose family.
