As part of a preparation for falling a hazard tree, a sawyer for the Wyoming Hotshots, cuts a smaller hung up snag out of the tree he's about to fall. One of the more important and dangerous jobs of wildland firefighters is hazard tree removal. The sawyers are out in front of the crews, sizing up and and removing trees that could prove hazardous to the crews coming in behind them securing the fires edge.
