This picture was captured during my anthropological fieldwork at Susunia, Chhatna, Bankura, West Bengal. The shepherd was a resident of the Santali community nearby and was a very friendly person. He bought sheeps and rams from different owners of the Santal village and sold them in the nearby town for wool, meat and domestication purposes. I met him while he was letting the sheep graze in a nearby grassland. He had atleast fifty sheep alongside him and he alone handled them.
