A lioness made the mistake of attempting to get her paws on this Cape buffalo calf. Instead she triggered a stampede by the adult herd members and finds herself pinned down in the brush. The adult on the left is keeping a watchful eye on her while the one on the right is alert for potential threats from other members of the pride. In this case, the pride was some distance away and the lioness sulked in the bushes for about 30 minutes until the field was clear enough for her to make her escape.
