    Ward Charcoal Kilns Ward Mining District White Pine County near Ely Nevada. Now a Nevada State Historical Park, the kilns were used to make charcoal out of the local cedar and pinon pine which was subsequently used to smelt silver mined nearby. Located in northern Nevada southeast of Ely of a good dirt road
