While sitting at my campsite in Rockhound State Park, NM, a pair of these gorgeous Scaled Quail traipsed right by the edge of my site. Unfortunately, they weren't cooperative enough to sit still in the open for me a get both quail in the frame, but this large male exposed himself enough to make the perfect photo-op!
