Sunrise over Omalos plateau (White Mountains sierra, island of Crete, Greece). As we were hiking towards the Gigilos summit, I noticed this high-altitude tree. A reminder of the harshness of the mountain and the weather and a live demonstration of a struggle to survive in the hardest conditions: cruel alpine winter times and burning-hot summers.
