A few years back, when June (aka "The Wife") and I were "Photo-Traveling" in the Pacific NW (e.g. Hoh Rain-forest) we stopped at a place right along the highway displaying large (at least six feet long) slabs of polished granite, presumably for counter tops. Much photography ensued. All these done with tripod-mounted 35mm camera.
