This photo was taken during one of the my sojourns in a locality called'Basak para' in Nadia district in west Bengal.Here every household has a handloom where taant sarees are woven.The weaving is an age old crafting method where the craftsmen(both men and women)deftly weave the cotton thread using two shuttles to creat beautiful sarees.After working for an entire day(10 hours) a weaver earns Rs130 only.
