Here we have the assistant supt for the Wyoming Hotshots and the forest fmo refilling their torches during a prescribed fire on the Bighorn National Forest. This burn was prescribed to reduce the amount of subalpine fir in areas that historically would have been more open grass meadows. The burn was being conducted at night to reduce the chance of unwanted spotting from the thousands of embers every fir produced.
