Shokhan is a Mongolian Kazakh eagle hunter living in the Altai Mountains in the west of the country. Despite our language differences, it was clear to me that Shokhan has a wicked sense of humour. However, in this image he is looking very wistful and I do wonder what was going through his mind as he was gazing out of the ger's doorway. Exploring the place, people and culture as well learning how to use natural light for portraits.

Lynn, there is a great texture in this image created by the lighting. I love that it's not a traditional portrait, yet it still captures the setting and story within the image. Mongolia is high on my list of places to explore, and this is more encouragement. Beautiful image!
