When I left for Antarctica, I assumed it would be a one-and-done trip - going once would be enough. Within a day of arriving, I realized I was wrong. Antarctica is a place that permanently changes you. I left with new understandings of beauty and, more importantly, of myself and what I am capable of. Every day, I look at this photo that I took in December 2017 and count the days until I return to Antarctica in February 2020. Taken in the Lemaire Channel aboard the National Geographic Explorer.

Beautiful capture Sam! I really like the use of space to show the vastness of the landscape. Including a bit of the ship bow and travelers adds perspective and a pop of color. I'm very happy to hear you had a great time and that you're planning to revisit this truly special place with us!
