Each day of our 8 day family paddling trip down Utah's Green River, we would pull in when we spied the latest opening into the canyon walls. These often tiny openings in the massive sandstone walls would lead to a hidden world of cirques and amphitheatres or sometimes lead nowhere after only a hundred yards. We preferred to rely on our sense of adventure than the map when choosing spots to explore, and these chasms are why our 4 day trip became 8!
