World in a Box
Moon Jellies float in an aquarium at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska. Found in open water from the Gulf of Alaska to southern California, these jellyfish can be found in large groups -- called smacks. The Alaska SeaLife Center combines a public aquarium with marine research, education, and wildlife response. Primarily dedicated to marine research and education, the Center is the only permanent marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation facility in the state.
