Buddha, a palm cockatoo (Probosciger aterrimus), once belonged to the Shah of Iran’s sister before she passed away. Arriving at the Santa Barbara Bird Sanctuary over 25 years ago, he was on the brink of death. Despite his health issues, he was nursed back to good health and has thrived ever since.
