Natural Bridges State Park near Santa Cruz, California is a bird sanctuary for Pelicans, Cormorants, and Herons. Also, a hot spot for the Monarch butterfly migration. It is protected by CA law so it is peaceful and pristine. I like to visit in the Spring when the flowers are blooming but I long to go back and see the Monarch butterflies as well. On this day they had high surf and a surfing contest was happening further up the coast, the waves and rocks made for some lovely contrasting colors.
