Pushkar is a tiny town in Rajasthan which attracts thousands of tourists, especially in the during its famous Camel Fair. The town is centred around a lake, which is of great mythological significance to Hindus. The lake is surrounded by 52 'Ghats' or stone steps, some of which are over 300 years old. Evenings during the Pushkar fair see throes of people flock to these Ghats for 'Maha-Aarti', and a religious fervor takes over the entire horizon at the lake.
