    Edit Photo Details Eclipse over Kilauea   #hawaii #volcano #eclipse #nationalpark #lunar #caldera #kilauea #halemaumau
I was in Big Island of Hawaii during the total Lunar eclipse of 31st January 2018. On the night of the eclipse, I positioned myself on the eastern edge of the rim trail around Kilauea caldera in Hawaii Volcanoes NP. With the Moon getting eclipsed high in the western sky, the smoke and steam rising from the lava lake in Halema'uma'u crater blocked the view of the already eclipsed Moon from time to time.
