It was amazing watching this Barred Owl hunt. She was perched on the lower limbs of a pine tree for a while then moved to the top of a birdhouse, presumably listening for rodents moving under the snow as they fed on seeds fallen from the birdhouse. I sat on the ground waiting for her to make her move. Finally she did but unfortunately for her she came up empty handed. She then moved back to the top of the birdhouse and we left her to continue her hunt. I hope her next attempt was a success.
