My trip to Death Valley marks one of the most life changing experiences of my life. I didn't know how cathartic it feels to be all alone in a vast landscape until that trip. My first time out on the Mesquite dunes at sunset: I knew I wanted to capture the sand skimming off the dune but it was really hard to get this shot. My equipment and I were being blasted by the gusting sand. I finally stood across my camera blocking it with my body as I blindly shot this picture praying for the best.
