On the pier while fishing this was the prime pelican hang out spot. The pelicans loved to sit here and some even fought each other over spots. The staff at the pier knew this was a spot the pelicans enjoyed so they had a hose there to spray the pelicans into leaving. Even though they got sprayed by water some would just sit and not leave.
