Remains of the Marinid dynasty on the hills overlooking the UNESCO heritage city of Fez in Morocco. The ruined tombs are believed to date back from the 14th century. The Marinids conquered Fez in 1250, they built a palace, a mosque and a necropolis on the hill outside the city walls to the north. Known today as the “Hill of the Marinids”, it was once known as Al-Qula. The site not only offers grand view of the city of Fez,but also makes one wonder about its creators and inhabitants of the tombs.
