After walking about the beach, I observed a group of Snowy Plovers pattering about in the sand then hiding in my footprints I had left behind. I had to hide behind a log to get this shot as they were quite sensitive to human presence. They are listed as threatened due to land encroachment as sand dunes slowly disappear. Please remember to leash your dogs in protected nested areas.
