Fabric Dyers of Marrakech
The souks or markets of the medina in the old part of Marrakech are a labyrinth of alleyways where you encounter colorful carpets, drying leather, sweet-smelling spices, and intricately carved lamps and metalwork. In one section, you can see skillful men using colors in bowls to dye fabrics and wool, which they then hang overhead to dry under the bamboo-covered terraces to be sold in the shops nearby.
