These little sand formations are completely natural and located at the mouth of Hang En cave in Vietnam. Water drips continuously from the roof of the cave onto the sand below. This washes all the sand away except for the sand underneath the pebbles. As the year goes on more and more sand washes away, and the columns appear to grow. When the floods come the sand builds up again and the process starts all over.
