Bayon Temple, Siem Reap, Cambodia
I have always wanted to visit Angkor Wat, and this January I made it. I hadn't really appreciated the extent or diversity of the temples at Siem Reap, and out of them all I found the Angkor Thom complex, and especially the Bayon Temple so stunningly beautiful. The temple is covered in these serene faces, giving an amazing peaceful and almost hypnotic charm to the place. in the afternoon sun, it was the most wonderful place to sit and ponder. I have been boring people about it ever since!
