It was about 5 years ago, I had my cousins visiting my place at Kodaikanal. And we were roaming to all sight seeing places, taking pictures of us and having a good time. There is a lake near by a village named Kookkal and we were spending some time there. I was taking pictures of my cousin and suddenly saw a movement on a small tree nearby me. It was this "Streak-throated Woodpecker (Picus xanthopygaeus)" suddenly came out from a bush and sat on the top of a broken branch just few feet away.
