I met a National Geographic photographer while working as a hatchery technician on Baranof Island. I loaded up my 65mm lens, my flash, and my camera and I remember the look on his face when I told him I wanted to work with the fiddleheads before they unraveled. I'm 25 years old and I honestly thought he was going to laugh at me. I love macro over the landscape and wildlife work I do because you’re forced to improvise, take routes others wouldn’t consider, and the result is always a surprise.
