The trip I took to the Sub-Antarctic Islands and the Antarctic just blew my mind for the spectacular scenery, the rich, diverse wildlife with no fear of humans and the lack of human artifacts. South Georgia Island was, in particular, an amazing place with its towering snow-covered mountains and the huge colonies of penguins such as this king penguin colony at Gold Harbour with thousands of adult penguins and their large brown chicks called 'oakum boys'. Truly a life-altering experience!
