    A subspecies hybrid of the eastern gray Wolf driven to extinction in the northeastern United States in the early 1800's. The Coywolf would not exist if it weren't for the eastern gray Wolf. Perhaps in their own way protecting themselves from extinction through breeding with the eastern coyote!!
