This photo was taken in the Great mosque of Agadez in Niger. The muezzin invited me to sit down on the carpets of the prayer hall. He shared how glad he was to receive foreigners in his shrine which was until 2007 visited by many until tourism stopped because of threats of insecurity. He shared how hurtful it was for him not to see visitors anymore and hoped the future would bring better times allowing the light coming Inside to radiate on people’s heads coming from all around the world.
