Polar living
At Doubtful on Wrangel Island, we met two of the wildlife rangers permanently stationed there. One chose to live in an old ramshackle wooden hut, erected by earlier settlers. The conditions were primitive to say the leasts. I was impressed by the rangers' dedication to protecting the wildlife on this remote Russian nature reserve and it made me even more determined to do whatever I can to alleviate the effects of climate change and encourage others to do the same.
