This is the Oconee River running through Bogart Georgia. According to a friendly old timer I met Northeast Georgia ‘s first settlers made their way to this river and was befriended by a Indian Chief. The settlers developed Georgia’s first trading post on this river. There is a book written by a local of the area “Beads to Barrel” which documents the history of this area an the relationship between the Natives of this land.
