Leadville Ski Joring
Every year for the past seventy of them, Leadville, CO residents and visitors line historic Harrison Avenue, to watch the intersection of cowboys and skiing. Horses and their riders race close to 37 mph down the snow covered avenue pulling skiers through a course of jumps and turns, while the skier attempts to grab hoops and work the rope with speed and agility.
The community is placed high in the Rocky Mountains at 10,152′, and has one of the richest histories in Colorado.
