Icelandic Wings
Although Iceland Gulls breed and live in the Arctic, some do venture further south during the winter months. This Juvenile was photographed in Bay of Islands, Newfoundland, stretching out its wings as it appears to hide its face and escape my camera lens! I have spent this winter observing and photographing the various species of gulls found on the west coast of Newfoundland. Often overlooked, these magnificent birds are very beautiful indeed.
