Dennis' Barber Shop
Stan (pictured here) got his first haircut in this shop when he turned one year old. Now he works here. More than just a barber shop, this is a small-scale community center. Friends and family gather, young people in need find help, and the moral compass of neighborhood is guided. "Speak these daily courtesies--'good morning' and 'good evening'" reads the sign on the wall, reminding folks to be kind to each other and "keep our city's essential spirit of love and care alive."
Wonderful portrait and great back story.
