One of the most beautiful and mysterious endemic bird in the Philippines is the Scale-feathered Malkoha. It can be detected through its whizzing sound and usual they go out in partners. It is very difficult to shoot this mysterious bird since they also hide in vines and are very unsociable. Their numbers diminish because of hunting and loss of habitat. It is locally known as "manok-manok" refered to as chicken of the forest.
