I took this image on my first trip to Uzbekistan, a country neighbouring my homeland, Kazakhstan. While admiring Uzbek architecture, culture and food every day of my journey, I started feeling sadness that I haven't discovered it earlier. It is the case in many developing countries - when we have time and money to travel, we go far away, to Europe to South-East Asia. But there is so much to discover just around the corner! That trip opened my eyes and inspired me to travel in my home region
