A female Northern Cardinal wears her Sunday best on Easter morning. She spent most of the early morning gathering nesting material from a meadow. I sat down in the middle of the field so I could watch her and the other birds selecting twigs and other material to build their nests. This little gal was so active, I was thankful she decided to take a break so I could photograph her, because she was so beautiful. Her warm golden colors blended in nicely with with the dried thatch under the trees.
