Michigan's spring has been very late this year. I was finally able to get to my local metropark on a very cold spring morning. I found controlled burn signs posted in the area I was going to walk in. Nothing seemed to be happening, so I hiked right into the area of the burn. Rangers dressed in yellow appeared and began setting fire to the scrub. Fortunately for me the wind dispatched the smoke and allowed me to photograph.
