Blue-tailed bee-eater behaviour. As soon as the summer sets in, the flocks from south Asia, Sri Lanka , move northwards in search of a conducive place with water. The flocks of bee-eaters occupy the riverside and look for ideal places for mating. Early April is ideal time when the blue-tailed bee-eaters, mate. The mating activity sometimes is quite interesting wherein the male gets a catch like dragon flies/bees etc in mid air , and feeds the female. Later it is followed with mating.
