Almost a year ago my aunt was buried in Arlington National Cemetery alongside my uncle, who was an Air Force colonel. I'm always struck by the precision of the rows of headstones in Arlington and the range of emotions I feel when I visit there. I'm awed by the beauty, but there's always a sense of sadness.
