Michigan weather during the spring can give exciting photo opportunities! I saw the wave prediction for St Joseph showed large waves that afternoon. After finding the position I wanted I put my 150-600mm Tamron on my tripod that was dug into the sand and weighted it down with my backpack to combat the fierce winds that were shaking my camera. I enjoy going to this lighthouse for wave pictures due to the main lighthouse is on the north side which i find gets larger waves.

You were definitely in the right position to capture this moment, Levi. I can only imagine what it's like to witness the raw power of a wave crashing into a lighthouse. It s just a great example of a moment that mother nature can reveal to us and just how intense that moment can be. Excellent composition here.
