Balancing traditions and labor can be hard but not for the women of rural Rajasthan. Culturally, they are always veiled (following the purdah ie. separation of women and men through the veil) but that does not stop hardworking women from getting jobs or working the fields. I saw this woman collecting branches near the fields in the Aravalli hills region of Rajasthan. Since it was a cloudy rainy monsoon ay everything around her looks lush green, but so does she.
