    Reported by:

A young cormorant was found limping on the side of the road, quite a distance from the roosting area. After taking it to the vet, it was determined that he had an injured leg and was very underweight. After a week of feeding this juvenile and teaching it to recognize and catch fish, he was successfully released back to the estuary on May 5th. It was a great joy to watch him swim, dive and then fly up to the roosting tree!
